Plant & Equipment
As the SodaBlasting process is non-abrasive it can be used on surfaces, which would normally be damaged by abrasive media.
Unlike using an abrasive, like sand etc, sodium bicarbonate particles remove contaminants by means of the energy released when the particles explode on contact with the surface making it possible to work on:-
- Stainless steel
- Brick, Stone
- Most plastics
- Bearings, Seals
- Hydraulic cylinders
Soda blasting also breaks down hydrocarbons, which makes it highly suitable for cleaning engines, engine parts and similar.
Another major advantage is that the surface-tension of metals is not broken, which eliminates the problem of flash-rusting.
The non-flammable properties of sodium bicarbonate allow it to be used for cleaning in the petroleum industry where other methods cannot be used.
